Kuntal Roy - Tabla Teacher

Tabla (drums) maestro Kuntal Roy is a professional classical musician based in India. He began his study of music at a young age, and has been fortunate enough to have had training under the tutelage of the legendary master Pandit Shankar Ghosh since 1991.

Kuntal Roy has performed solos and accompanied leading artists in India, US, Germany, Belgium, and Russia. He has also made appearance on national television in India.

He enjoys passing on the knowledge to dedicated students in Seattle, Kolkata, and in Europe. His students learn the nuances of Rhythm in the same manner taught to him by his guruji, and focuses on melody, clarity, grace, and laykari – the grasp rhythm.

He continues to receive taalim from Pandit Shankar Ghosh, and Sri Radha Raman Nath, a senior desciple of Pandid Anindo Chatterjee.
